The South Ariake area, where the Ariake Frontier Building is located, is furnished with some of the finest convention facilities, including Tokyo Big Sight, Japan's largest international exhibition center, and a number of hotels to cater to these facilities. It also acts as a comprehensive base for disaster prevention, and has hospitals that offer medical relief at times of disaster. The whole area is lively, and crowded with people every day. In the North Ariake area, you will find Ariake Tennis Park, where international tournaments are held, and many of the citizens engage in sports here. At the same time, the waterfront area has been utilized in recent years for the construction of high-rise apartment buildings, a development that will go towards further improving the lives of residents.
